“The Use and Consideration of Arrest and Conviction Records in the Employment Decisions”
The meeting will feature an excerpt from a recent presentation conducted by EEOC. Using criminal background checks when making employment decisions can lead to a Title VII Violation. The guidance advices employers how they can avoid Title VII liability if they choose to use applicant or employee criminal records to make employment decisions.
The discussion will also include information on “Interview Do and Don’t Guidelines” led by our very own Patrick (Pat) Daugherty, Business Relations Consultant with the State of Alabama.
