    Christine Coleman-Lovelace

    Christina Coleman-Lovelace serves as the Community Outreach and Resource Planning Specialist for the Gulf Coast Wage and Hour Division in the Birmingham District Office.  Prior to starting her career with the federal government, she worked for the University of Alabama at Birmingham as a Business Officer.  She attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham and she is a graduate of Miles College, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with her BS in Business Management. She is also a veteran of the U.S. Navy.  

    In 2007, after 12 years with UAB, she accepted a position as District Resources Manager with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. In this position, she served as the primary resource for over 125 employees located in three offices with jurisdictional enforcement of employment discrimination and provided critical, financial and HR Services throughout the states of Alabama, Mississippi and the Florida Panhandle. She was responsible for Human Resources, Budget/Finance, Procurement, Information Technology, travel management, payroll and Logistical Support.  She served as the procurement official for supplies and services necessary for the employees in all three offices – Birmingham, Mobile and Jackson, Mississippi. This position allowed her to further engage her love for community service and outreach. 

    After 5 successful years with the U.S. EEOC, she joined the Department of Labor Wage and Hour Division in January 2012.  In this position, she is responsible for assisting in planning, coordinating, implementing and evaluating enforcement and informational activities of the district office. She leads efforts in developing plans for short and long-term outreach efforts, public involvement, stakeholder involvement and other public engagement efforts. Christina believes that “if you love what you do, you will never have to work another day in your life”. One of her favorite quotes is from James Baldwin "If you have no confidence in self, you are twice defeated in the race of life. With confidence you have won even before you have started".
